According to Clinical Advisor (and others), September is a month to think about health.

Alzheimers, Baby Safety, Blood Cancer, Childhood Cancer, Cholesterol, Newborn Screening, Ovarian Cancer, Pain Awareness, Prostate Cancer, Suicide Prevention, and lots more!

Health is also related to our mental and emotional health and looking at our families, what does it really mean to have a healthy family?

There are many aspects to having a healthy family. We ALWAYS have to start with the leaders in our home - the parents. How healthy are we?

There are some definite things we can do to work towards having a healthy leadership in our homes. First - is to take care of our SELF. We cannot make anyone do anything - we can only make our SELF do things, react to things.

I will also add - do things for others. Volunteer, make a gift or meal for a neighbor, paint a picture for your child or grandchild, the list of things that can fill our soul are endless.

My grandson drew this picture and I painted it for him. Filled my soul and made him feel important and loved.
